Charles Vicario
Charles Vicario, 90, of 156 Allen St., Jamestown, died at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 26, 2011) in the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on May 14, 1920 in Ravenna, Ohio the son of Anthony and Josephine Buttafarro Vicario.
Charles was employed at Amsco for several years and was previously employed at the former Art Metal as a press operator for thirty five years. He was also employed as a care taker at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery for several years. He served with the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Henry Mosher Post#638.
He is survived by a daughter JoLynn Dispenza and his beloved granddaughter Kimberly Anne Dispenza, Kenmore, N.Y., a brother Benny (Dolly) Vicario, Jamestown. Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Fiorella Vicario whom he married on June 23, 1945 in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church and who died on June 26, 2010 and by two brothers Sebastian and Gaetano Vicario.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:00 p.m..
