Condolences for Edith Ottoson Swank
Name:Linda Newell Whitmore
Comment: Linda, Steve, David and Laurie... There are soooo many memories going through my mind right now. With our Mom's recent death and now your Mom's..the end of an era for our families. I suspect that my Mom & Dad and your Dad were waiting with open arms to welcome your Mom into the presence of God. Two awesome couples together again.. A sad time for you all yet a joyous one remembering and celebrating her life. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Linda

Comment: To her children, especially Linda who was my classmate, I remember your Mom as such a kind and loving person. I had the honor of reading with her at the Westfield Christian Science Society and she was a gentle woman. I know that though she will be missed, she left a good trail of kindnesses for others. She used to come and visit with my Aunt Geraldine and they also used to work in the grapes together. May God Bless you all. Love, Alice

Comment: Dear Linda, Steve Laurie, and David, I'm so sorry about the loss of your Mother. It will leave a large gap in each one of your lives as caregivers for the extended amount of time you honored her in that loving way. The rest of us with elderly parents should sit up and take note. I will never forget coming home and having Sunday dinner with your family on Berry Rd when I was in high school. I always felt so welcome even at a table that already had many mouths to feed around it! Your Mom always took everything in stride and was such a gracious host. I also remember how much she seemed to enjoy spending time at your family camp on Glasgow Rd. Things seemed so simple and wholesome then. I remember the family celebration when she was elected (re-elected?) to the BOE in Fredonia. Steve came running out of the school and we drove back to the house with the great news! She must have taught all of you to encourage and celebrate each other successes in life.....another thing so rarely found in today's fractured families. I feel honored to have known her and will continue to draw upon her influence upon my life. While it may not have been for any great length of time, the impact was powerful. I thank God for the ways in which He moves through and uses people like your Mom to fulfill His purposes. She certainly will receive her reward. God bless you all. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this sad time. Lovingly, martha
