Josephine Triscari Vella
Josephine Triscari Vella, 95, formerly of Warren Jamestown Blvd, Jamestown, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday (February 18, 2011) in Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born in Jamestown on July 25, 1915 the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Parasiliti Triscari. Josephine was employed at Jamestown Veneer & Plywood for several years, retiring in 1977. She was previously employed as a cashier at Robert Hall and from 1952 to 1964 and was the owner and operator with her husband of Vell'a Grocery on Foote Ave.. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Josephine is survived by a son Frank Vella, Sugar Grove, Pa., a daughter Jean (Donald) Guarnieri, Jamestown, six grandchildren Marla (Tim) Engelbrecht and Anna (Peter) Brown, Rochester, N.Y., John (Lucia) Guarnieri and Amy (Brett) Aversa, Jamestown, Leanne (Douglas) Lafave and Chrissie Link, Wilmington, N.C., eleven great grandchildren, two sisters Frances Nagle and Margaret Leone. Jamestown, several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Vella whom she married on June 24, 1939 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on October 15, 2009, two grandchildren Cheryl Mari Guarnieri who died in 1994 and Lisa Rae Vella who died in 1979, two brothers Joseph and Buster Triscari and four sisters Angeline Foti, Bessie Guiffrida, Rose Russo and Lena Triscari. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Todd Remick, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services.
