Mary Tabone Miley
Mary Tabone Miley, 82, of Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing, formerly of 168 West Virginia Blvd., died at 5:55 a.m. Friday (October 7, 2011) in the nursing facility. She was born in Jamestownon March 1, 1929, the youngest of nine children to Joseph and Gertrude Guinta Tabone.
Mary attended Jamestown Schools and was employed at the Hotel Jamestown, Gandy's Restaurant, Galati's Restaurant and Miley's Old Inn, where she worked as the head cook until her retirement. She enjoyed arts and crafts, going to the casino and cooking for her family.
Mary will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and was a true friend. Her spirit will live forever in our hearts.
She is survived by a son ,William G. (Lorraine) Miley Jr., Jamestown, two daughters Dawn Perry, Rochester, N.Y. and Cynthia (David) Evans, Doylestown, Pa., two grandsons, William G. (Katie) Miley III, Jamestown and Philip M. (Michelle) Miley, Rochester; two granddaughters, Marlo and Taylor Perry, Jamestown; three great grandchildren, Bennett and Gavin Miley, Rochester and Max Miley, Jamestown, a sister Jennie Hall, Inverness, Fl., and her dearest friend Cheryl Schuler, Jamestown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Miley who died on January 11, 1997 and by a son, Michael Miley who died on March 4, 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.Friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services.
